The WP5 file is a word processing document created by WordPerfect 5.x for DOS, a highly successful version of WordPerfect, hence the acronym WP5.

It was best known for its availability on a large number of computers and operating systems.
This show reached the height of its popularity in the mid to late 1980s.
It has since ceded its throne to Microsoft Word in terms of the number of people using it.
Since its acquisition by Corel in 1996, WordPerfect has been known as Corel WordPerfect.
The WP5 file is already a deprecated format and is not used.
Said WP5 file included support for tables within the document.
