Open PI2 File

The files that use the PI2 extension have two applications of a different nature, namely:

Portrait Innovations Photo

In this use case, the PI2 plugin takes a high-resolution digital photography format used by Portrait Innovations studios.

Portrait Innovations was a photography and printing company that closed its doors, globally, in 2017.

The PI2 extension file is saved in a proprietary image format and is a high resolution version, encrypted for copyright reasons and can only be viewed using Portrait Innovations software.

PI2 files may be included on photo CDs along with low resolution JPG images.

DEGAS Medium Resolution Image File

In this case, similar to the previous one, the PI2 extension file is a bitmap graphics format used by DEGAS, an image editor for Atari ST systems.

DEGAS (Design & Entertainment Graphic Arts System) is a bitmap graphics editor for the Atari ST which, in turn, is a line of personal computers from Atari Corporation and the successor to the Atari 8-bit family.

Here, the PI2 file is a medium resolution (640x200) 4-color compatible version that can be opened with DEGAS software on Atari systems or with various image viewing programs for Mac and PC.
