PDR files have various applications, some of them listed below:
Windows Port Driver
The PDR file is a driver file that enables certain USB Devices, such as mass storage drives, to be recognized and used by a Windows-based computer.
The PDR file is similar to a virtual device driver used by other hardware.
PDR files can be uploaded using the Windows control panel under "Add New Hardware".
Once the hardware is located, select the location of the PDR file when prompted.
ProntoDoc for Word Recovered Document
The PDR file, in this section, is a file used by ProntoDoc for Word, a Microsoft Word add-in used to generate document templates.
PDR is basically a container for other formats and stores a template in any of the following formats: PDW, PDE, PDH, PDM, PDZ.
It is also capable of storing DOCX, XLSX, PDF type documents and any other ProntoDOC content.
The PDR is used to retrieve document content in the event of an unscheduled outage of the server system.
ProntoDoc for Word is used in business environments to generate reports and other business documents.
