Open DFU File

DFU files have two different use cases, namely:

LaTeX Font Encoding

File used by the LaTeX typesetting system, developed to create high-quality typography used to format academic and journal documents.

In this application, DFU files are used to define supported characters, such as ASCII and Unicode characters, for LaTeX configuration.

These file types were originally developed by Christian Schenk for MiKTeX, the main distribution for creating LaTeX documents.

iOS DFU

DFU stands for Device Firmware Update, which is mainly used for Apple iOS. Apple, at the time, defined the standard of this format to start mobile devices manufactured by Apple, such as the iPhone and the iPad, thus converting it into a system file.

With these types of files, mobile devices developed by Apple interact with iTunes.

DFU files allow you to change the operating mode of the device, that is, in DFU mode it is allowed to change and choose the firmware you want to install on the device.
