Open CUR File
A file with the CUR extension is a Windows Cursor static file.
CUR files are still images that are identical to ICO files in every way, apart from the difference in the file extensions.
On the other hand, animated cursor files have the ANI extension to differentiate them from CUR.
Due to the different activities that are executed through the mouse pointer, various CUR files can be found within the Windows operating system, such as a capital "i" when placed over the text or as an hourglass when something is being moved or process is loading.
It is possible to make modifications to the image of the pointers saved in the CUR files through the Control Panel by opening the mouse applet and clicking on the Pointers tab.
Choose the scheme you want for the pointer by selecting the "Scheme" drop-down list, selecting the scheme, and clicking Apply.
The CUR files are typically found in the following path:
C:\Windows\Cursors
