Open PPT File

PPT file extension is used by Microsoft Power Point PresenTation. These files usually contain series of presentation slides. Each slide may contain text, pictures, tables and transition effects. This extension is used by version of Microsoft Office that are older than 2007. Office 2007 uses file extension PPTX.

Besides Microsoft Office there are other software packages that can view or edit PowerPoint presentation files. These include Apple Keynote, OpenOffice, Google Documents and others. However since PPT standard allows for embedding other content such as spreadsheets via OLE most alternative software packages wouldn't be able to fully render such presentations.

In order to open PPT file you need to have Microsoft Office PowerPoint application installed. If you have it on your computer you should just double click on the PPT file to open it.
